Writeback Authentication

As per version 1.0.69.9, accoPLANNING supports two methods of database connection authentication:

• SQL User

• Service Principal

To choose your authentication method, find the "Authentication method" setting within Writeback > Connection in the Visuals' formatting settings.

SQL User is the default value. If this is selected, you simply need to provide user credentials to access your database. These credentials are the same you would use when interacting with the database on a database management system.

Service Principal allows writeback to the database using an Azure service principal. This has slightly more steps:

1. Create a Service Principal

2. Grant your service principal permission by giving it "Contributor" for Azure SQL server

3. Select Service Principal in the visual's formatting settings and fill out the fields
